Honolulu advertiser building

KAPOLEI, HAWAII

honolulu advertiser building

2004

This project involves design and construction of a new approximately $25 million industrial facility to house an approximately $50 million state-of-the-art print plant for Hawaii's largest newspaper. The building will also incorporate warehousing and production administration spaces, and will serve as a hub for a new distribution concept developed by the paper to better serve their large base of readers. This new facility is being delivered through application of an emerging project delivery concept, known as design-assist, which combines many of the strengths of the traditional design-bid-build and design-build models.

This major new project will add to Kapolei’s growth toward becoming a city and will bring hundreds of jobs into the region. Although located just outside the Kapolei business center and business park, this project will relate in scale and color to the context of those adjacent areas. The facility is highly visible from the surrounding areas and will stand to symbolize the progress and vibrancy of Kapolei.
